We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our leadership team and support our critical care professionals across all shifts. This full-time role includes a flexible schedule with rotating overlaps, fostering a dynamic work environment.

In our Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU)—an 18-bed unit for critical care—we prioritize excellence. You will receive specialized training in CORE EKG, hemodynamics, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy, and Ventilator/Respiratory care.

Position Purpose: Registered Nurse Coordinator is a key leadership role that helps ensure the success of the unit and fosters excellent patient care. You will ensure compliance with standards set by regulatory bodies and uphold honesty and professionalism.

In this role, you will motivate your team and promote evidence-based practices that improve patient care. You will also solve problems and find solutions by collaborating with your staff.

What You Will Do

  • Develops, coordinates, and implements staffing plans to ensure adequate care coverage and adjusts unit productivity to meet targets.
  • Coordinates patient admissions, discharges, and transfers for optimal bed utilization in collaboration with the Administrative Coordinator Office.
  • Manages urgent/emergent situations by reallocating personnel and resources as needed.
  • Participate in hiring, evaluating, initiating corrective action and terminating employees as necessary
  • Educates team members in clinical competencies.
  • Ensures quality nursing care per New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards of care and practice.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in the State of New York.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Two years progressive experience in critical care and/or leadership preferred. Experience in related field will be considered based on specific department needs and/or requirements. Certification/licensure as required by regulatory agency. Ideally the candidate will have strong clinical skills, leadership qualities and must be actively working toward an advanced degree.
  • Specialty credentialing & educational degree according to clinical nursing practice specialty area preferred.
  • Participates in continuing education, updates and maintains knowledge and skills as content expert for specific areas of expertise.

Pay Range: $41.85 - $59.00

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

The Nurse Leader (NL) is a licensed registered nurse (RN) accountable for leading, managing & advancing people, processes & / or programs that support direct or indirect patient care. The NL promotes & advocates for patients, nurses / colleagues & the practice of nursing as defined by clinical area(s) of expertise & assignment.
